Mini hats

I saw someone selling these precious little things and could not help myself! They're so cute I had to figure out how to make them myself- without buying a thing!

I used old toilet paper rolls, an old shoe box, and some scrap fabric I had around the house. They turned out perfect. I'm in the process of getting them on hair clips and head bands so they can be rocked in the real world! If you want one let me know- or if you have a specialty hat that you want made (think Halloween, birthday or specified colors...) and we will work out a very fair price!

Homemade baby food

This stuff is really good! I'll likely continue to make batches of this for school lunches. Preston LOVES to eat nowadays! I'm sure he's in a major growth spurt at the moment. These are a few of his favs.
Pictured:
Apple & collards purée (splash of lemon juice)
Lentils, bananas, & apple sauce
Not pictured but equally as delicious:
Blackberry, blueberry, & pear
Peach or apricot or apple oatmeal with molasses
Carrot, cauliflower, & molasses
Broccoli, peas, & pears
He's very much into snacking on cantaloupe, blueberries and grilled chicken.
Initially I was testing things out in the baby food world, I was a little scared when he projectile vomited everything! But he got used to eating and I got better at blending :) so happy I stuck with it! I know where the food comes from and what all goes into it. Plus the cost of baby food is outrageous- he can easily put down 2.5 jars in a meal these days.
Try it out. All ya gotta do is boil and blend! I pour it into ice cube trays to freeze...then transfer to freezer bags. Happy to provide recipes if you're interested!

Recycled gift bags

Ok, so for every time I remember to take my reusable bags to the store there are 10x I forget them and must get paper bags. What's a girl to do?! Recycle them into super chic paper clutch gift bags that's what! This is my new project and I have to say that my husband was a skeptic when I spoke of the idea, however he's been pleasantly surprised by the turn out! We are already trying to think of other excuses to use them :)
Pretty self explanatory. Cut, fold, stitch, stamp or embellish as you like!!

Natural Laundry Detergent

Yay! First blog post about what I have been doing with my life recently. I have mentioned a little business endeavor to some of you- well I am "sweetly inspired" and I'm working on my etsy shop as I type this. Literally, my etsy page is minimized as I compose this blog!!! Must keep this short and sweet, but I made the most divine cleaning powder for our laundry:

Grate one 8oz or two 4oz bar of dr bronners or mrs meyers or what ever natural bar soap you like
2 C wash soda
2 C borax
I shred mine up even finer in the food processor, but it's not necessary. I used mrs Meyers lavender soap it smells amazing! It ends up being only like 2 cents a load and you have all the stuff to make other natural household cleaners. Preston's (my baby boy) skin is super sensitive so we are going to give this a whirl!

You only need to use one tablespoon for a full load.

I put my natural detergent to the test on the first load- Sweaty and stinky yoga clothes! They came out smelling fresh and so clean! btw: the cool star jar came from ikea :) Happy Laundering!
