Dramatic Lotus Jewelry Box

This jewelry box is sassy, I must say!

The most challenging thing about making my recycled jewelry boxes it that I want to keep them all. Although I seem to have a quite a bit of baubles, I do not need a multitude of jewelry boxes :)

This box is made from a recycled drawer painted and decoupaged with 100% recycled paper with a lotus flower print. It features 5 knobs for hanging necklaces and bracelets, 2 posts to contain your rings and a mesh filled frame to corral your earrings.

I'll be listing it in my etsy boutique tomorrow, and there are two more that are also soon to be listed!

Miniature Witch Hat

Hello fall! Halloween is just around the corner :)
Halloween is my mother's birthday and favorite holiday. I am helping her plan out a pretty extravagant and fun themed Halloween party, which we will get into in a later blog (gotta make it through Preston's first birthday first!)
"Does your brain even stop working?" silly hubby asked me last night. I just gave him the "what do you think?!" look and he responded, "I know it doesn't!"
So here it is... The thing I laid in bed awake thinking about the past two nights. A miniature witch hat. To be secured on a headband or alligator clip and worn or to adorn your sweet orange cat to laugh at!
I used a toilet paper roll for the top, an old shoe box for the brim. I covered it in this green yellowish raw silk that I had in my fabric stash and embellished it with black ribbon, scrap booking rhinestones and black feathers plucked from an old boa.

Miniature pillows and star napkins

Well, this weekend has been productive and fun! I have gotten lots of work done and have been overwhelmingly inspired as usual!
I love stars!! I have stamped them on these sweet pink napkins- I like to think of these for the elegant rock star type ;)

I have had it in my mind for a long long time to make these adorable miniature love pillows! In their past life they were old curtains who served their time on our windows.

The one all the way to the left (not pictured) says in love, the pictured ones say (from left to right) fall in love every day, mr. & mrs., and bliss. I love all four of them and I think I'll just have to keep one!

Baby shower favors

Just finished a project for my sweet friend, Kate! I am so loving these adorable cupcakes :)

These are hand stamped flour sack kitchen towels (my favorite). I stamped 3 cupcakes and sweet thing. Being a Virgo, I always want things tidy and perfect, however the charm in handmade is that each item is authentic. Each towel looks slightly different, I got out of my comfort zone for that and I love every one of them equally.

I made the cupcake wrappers and cupcake toppers as well as the cupcake display tower that is pictured. These have to be shipped to the mommy to be, but how sweet would it be to have these displayed this way at a baby/bridal shower or house warming party.

I am so grateful to have this opportunity. And of course I has to snap tons of photos before I part with these little treats!

Hand stamped flour sack towels

I am loving the fabric stamping/stenciling these days! I'm strongly considering redoing the whole family's wardrobe :) Can't you just imagine, David in his Old Navy purple polo with a cupcake stamped on it?! Ok, maybe that's taking it a little too far.
Any who- these are sweet and will be posted in my etsy shop soon!
